I collected this newly identified Southern Red Cedar this Jan. and planted it in my growing bed. I have since wired it heavily, bending it into a 360 degree corkscrew. The wire could only do so much, so I applied a wire twist to crank it down a bit more. It went from about 40" high to about 18". That 18" may even decrease after the tree goes into a pot in another year or two. I have half-sized replica of this tree next to it in the bed.
