Sapling Division: HorseloverFat’s Punica Granatum/Rosemary Officinalis Slab.

I had some extra grout from some tile work and it was repotting time.
I made two “pots” with it.
I used a different method this time. I threw Lille bits at each other and arranged and pushed them around until they all stuck together and it it had a useable shape.
I put a cypress in one already.
not sure what I’ll do with the other.

Doing the whole, “throw some soil on, rinse it down ‘til it all gets settled in a few years”ish thing that i’ve heard is customary of “rock plantings”53EE8ABB-FBF1-4A9E-B3E6-20782C9EA8AC.jpeg
The back, left tree appears to be.. struggling.. I “packed” his roots real nice, and I have my fingers-crossed..

I have THIS “exposed-root florist taped together to form a new ‘trunk’”- Specimen “on-deck” if needed.

First day of “the transition”... I WONT let them sunburn this year!

I say that about my saguaro every year...and yet just about every year

:(

It just got moved outside again this morning. Supposed to be cloudy the next couple of days...that helps. Clouds still brighter than indoors but does cut the direct sun so not as bad a burn.

I lost (or at the least, “set two months back”) a TON of trees/plants last year... I go 1 hour direct, then shade.. like actual shade 🤣.. adding an hour of direct Each day until that 5-6 hour mark...

Probably a little excessive... but “Once bitten, twice shy”

That Cactus is AWESOME! Those spines are NOT...MESSING... AROUND!

I have a Peruvian Torch hybrid that puts on MASSIVE monthly growth..

It’s designed for “overpotting”.. absolutely the fastest-growing Trich. I’ve even worked with.

This was a cutting.. mid-February.

That's pretty remarkable! All my cacti are much slower growing :( I've got a barrel cactus that isn't yet the size of a grape.

This saguaro is 20 years from seed my mother-in-law brought me back from Pheonix. I'm actually pretty worried about it. I repotted it 3 years ago now and I've seen very little new growth since :( I'll be a lot happier if it finally pushes some growth this year!

Is it not still cold there? According to the news this morning, some places around here had frost.
Yup had frost advisories.. i have veggies that still get stepped.. my “area” averages 55-70 during the day.. and only SLIGHTLY warmer at night. Just dancing.

Dingus, you were askin’ bout this one... I completely forgot..

Doing well! Other than that back middle, self-defoliating.. (hey! Springs are stressful here) ;)
