Looks like an interesting concept. Could work well provided soil depth and planting depth is right but I think I'll stick to root pruning. I know I can get consistently good results that way.
Yes, I couldn’t find pictures of the actual part. These are the best images I could take from YouTube video. It looks like it would be easier using one of these plastic discs as opposed to a piece of wood, and then nailing the roots down individually.

LOL, I knew I recognized that bench on the pics by the OP. This is an invention from David Cortizas from Spain. He calls it the (copyrighted as far as I know) Nebari Sugoi. He 3D print them from a "vegetable derived plastic". From the videos I have seen it works very similar to the Ebihara technique, but instead of separating the roots with nails he divert them through the plastic vanes while repotting.
Actual video when he stated releasing them, they used to be for sale on his website. You can set the subtitles to auto-translate from Spanish to English. He is working on translating all his videos using an AI interphase, it emulates his tone of voice and it is pretty close to be honest. I have checked a few shorts on YouTube and they are decent. Not sure if this video has a translation yet.

Is it not just the built-in YT service? (Which is only for newly uploaded videos for the time being). I know some videos of mine can now be watched in some 15 audio languages..
Not seen it before. I would be concerned what happens if you have goof year of fattening up the roots.

When he announced it he said it was an outside sourced app... that was a few months back. If the built-in service does the same thing, I'm sure he would use it, as it would be the most economically viable option.

Maybe a couple years ago (?) someone posted here about something similar. They were going to try using a flat plate/tile thing that had grooves in it for the roots. It looked different, but it's the exact same concept.
