Joined to learn, and find the dialog in the posts very informative. I had a half-dozen bonsai started from nursery stock back in the 80's (college years) that all died during their 4th year, while I was on a long trip. They weren't much, but nonetheless, I found that pretty discouraging. Given life's dynamics at the time, I wasn't in the position to try again. Have always harbored my love for bonsai, though.
Now, I am approaching a season in life where I may consider bonsai in a more informed fashion (given the amazing resources available). In retrospect, as I scan this site and watch tutorials on YouTube, I am grasping the immense depth and breath of my ignorance on the subject. Looking forward to learning from the Masters of the craft.
