Has anyone experimented with Quercus Incana?

It has a beautiful leaf in early spring with a cool blue hue that really stands out against a spring background (the color doesn’t photograph well so I can’t demonstrate it), and it barks up nicely at a fairly young age from what I’ve observed.

Here’s a couple pics of the bark. No idea how it would do in pot culture yet.

Never heard of them, but the bark looks nice. I'm finding mixed information about their cold hardiness, and they don't grow wild in my area, so that's a species of oak I may need to pass on.

Quercus incana is also known as scrub oak and should work as bonsai material, especially if you start with a bigger tree like that. Like most oaks, it may be mostly a long tap root under the soil though, just a heads up.
