Just wanted to share some progress pics of my Chinese elm RoR. I don’t post much, not even sure I’m posting in the right place or not…I Just got it into that pot a few days ago- I’ll try to shop around for something more suitable, maybe a glazed pot, next year. Oh and I made that kusamono in a Tom Dimig pot today as well ( native spleenwort, dwarf hosta, and native sedum) Goal for this year is to work on developing pads on the elm. Hope you all are enjoying the beginning of spring! First Pic is Feb. 2021 and last pic is from today.

Beautiful angle with the root movement and the shape of the rock. Very nice bones!

Here is an update on the root over rock Chinese elm and the kusamono. I still haven’t changed the pot since the last time I posted about it… I’d like to find something glazed, comparable in size,
but nothing flashy that will detract from the whole rock/ tree planting. I haven’t done much to it style- wise this year , more or less just fertilizing and trimming when it gets out of control. I enjoy working with Chinese elms, they respond great to work and for the most part I don’t have issues with pests. And the kusamono has just been rocking out ,
I’ll collect the seeds from the dwarf hosta and grow them next year, ive got a decent amount of offspring from the seeds sown over the past few years.

Amazing how the rock adds to the overall feel of the tree along with the angle you chose. Nice job looks good!

Thanks! Ya I really like that rock - even though the bark matches the color of the stone they almost compliment each other. I appreciate the kind words
