I went shopping around today for a juniper that I could play with for the box store challenge. No tree worth buying but I was surprised to see they had a few bonsai pots! I am sure the quality isn't out of this world, but I thought $30 for an unglazed pot of this size was too good to be true.

The only info on the label says it is clay and made in China. I'm not sure what type of clay is used or how high they fire the mass production pots, but I couldn't pass it up. If you have one in your area it may be worth checking into.

Wow! Is that the Old Greyco right there across the bridge towards Lady's Island?

Yep! They has at least 2 more this size. One was just like this one and another had rounded corners. I'm going back this weekend to look around when I have more time.

It might not take a freeze.

Looks good enough to not find out!

I like it.

What might you put in it?

I rubbed a little spit on it and it seemed ok...I'll hope for the best.

I don't have a tree what would fit this pot yet so I'll just stare at it for now..lol. Maybe one of my pine seedlings in about 20 years.

Is'nt a high fired pot supposed to ring like a bell when struck with your knuckle?
Maybe that can help.
