How about a sunrise? Portland (Maine) does face East over the ocean after all, so those views are always better.

this is when I realized I was destined to live on the west coast. went on quite a few vacations to eastern beaches, and was always told about beautiful sunrises... that I slept through.
I have an awesome sunset view from my rooftop, where my trees live. The sun sets over the distant Olympic mountains and casts amazing colors over the lake. Surprisingly, I don't seem to have any pictures of a good one, perhaps cause I can never do it justice!

I've attached a few bonus pics ; one from a plane of Tacoma (Rainier), Wy'east (Hood) and Loowit (St Helena). the other is from the Gorge Amphitheatre, the best damn outdoor venue in the county (sorry Red Rocks, you don't have the sunset!)
