I'm trying to figure out what type this is.

Am correct in saying that, if this tree is a seedling from a landscape bloodgood, it may be quite different from the tree that it came from (as a seed)....
I just received this tree a couple weeks ago and I was told that it grew in the yard and was dug up recently.
The leaves look cool, to me....
Red with some green tint in there...
What do you think?
Any ideas?
Hybrid?

That's not bloodgood, too thin. Not sure the variety maybe just a red Japanese maple

That is something that I thought too, thanks for that confirmation.
Do you think it could be a hybridized seed from a bloodgood?
Also, I don't know that the tree that dropped the seed is, in fact a bloodgood....I just assume that since those are the only ones I see in all the garden centers around this area.

Even though it came from a particular tree, it won't be exactly true, but, as you said, a hybrid between that tree and another tree in the area.

My Bloodgood. This was taken in May a few years ago. An airlayer I made for a coworker.

Red seedling color, chishio improved and seigen, cultivars colors are beginning to fade, large leaves due to cut back and nitrogen routine, there is not much of a difference between chishio n seigen, though chishio is a strong grower.
