So I found this P. nana in a 5 gallon pot at a nursery. Unfortunately it had been staked up some time ago and some of its branches form 90 degree angles from being tied up for so long. I suppose they dont have much choice because some of the branches are over 3 feet long.

Anyway it had a decent and interesting trunk.

The plan is to keep it alive through the winter then try to air layer a couple of the branches next spring to make other trees and see what I can do with the main trunk as well.

Wish me luck!

Looks like you might have something there! I have one similar that I am also waiting to mess with.

Hope so. We will see. Good luck with yours we can compare notes next spring.

I think if you start to cut away some of that longer stuff you don't need, you'll find that you have a top notch tree and be thankful it was staked.
