I recent acquired this small premna on march 5th (not sure what variety, Though the seller said it was Indonesian). When I first received it, it had dropped a lot of leaves from shipping stress but then recovered with new growth within a couple weeks. Since I've had it, I do get a yellow leaf here and there although, otherwise it seems healthy. I'm just wondering if I should be concerned. I had thought that by now I should stop seeing any yellowing at all. I've posted some photos of march 8 (three days after it arrived), march 23rd, my set up with humidity dome and lights, and an example of a yellowing leaf. Currently, that is the only yellow leaf, but there are a handful of others that look to be headed that way as they are starting to look a bit dull instead of a nice, rich green color. Any thoughts / advice would be greatly appreciated.

other information: Soil looks to be akadama and i added a top dressing of lava. some of the akadama seems to me to be a bit broken down although the seller said it had been recently repotted. According to him he delayed shipping it to me because of this.

Same thing happens with mine; when I did a bit of research, I found that this was pretty common or standard on this species, but I’m curious to know what more experienced growers have observed.

Thanks for your reply. I've had trouble finding any detailed information on premna, but I've some ficus owners say they get some yellowing here and there which then falls off and the tree remains healthy.

Nice tree! Looks healthy to me. As long as the new leaves are green I wouldn't worry about older leaves yellowing. Tropical trees aren't deciduous but they don't keep old leaves forever.
