Nick Lenz knockoff?

So my buddy just bought a Nick Lenz pot on ebay for 120 bucks, i think somethings not right about it, do you think its the real deal?

The signature looks right for one of his late pots. Clay and glaze too. A lot would depend on who the seller was. Is he/she a bonsai person? Did they provide any other info on where they got this? If your buddy paid $120, he did well for a pot that size and shape from NL.

Look through here--Nick Lenz 3rd gen looks like the right signature.
 
I realize this is a really old thread but thank you for the link to the Artist Mark Resource library!
 
So...From what I read so far, the Chinese only make knock offs of some of the highest priced pots...Especialy from Tokoname like Tokufuji and such and not $300 Koyo or Reiho ones. I dont know how accurate this is but Im just telling what I've read regrading the matter.
