The National Bonsai and Penjing Museum in Washington D.C. is looking for its next bonsai curator apprentice. It's a paid position-- $40 k minimum with more possible --March through November next year. Job is aimed at giving someone hands-on one-on-one styling and care training in managing bonsai collections.

Great opportunity for someone out there---

I am all over the jobs because they are the future of American bonsai. These opportunities need to get spread widely among "bonsai people." Many of these jobs have been, and will continue to be, stepping stones to professional bonsai careers. This is a huge opportunity for someone young looking to make bonsai a career or a substantial side job., or find a doorway to a wider horticultural career.

totally agree! and I appreciate it as I could see myself trying to be one of those people in a few years.

out of curiosity, how do you find these openings?

Join a few things online, like the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum, Pacific Bonsai Museum FB pages, as well as the National Bonsai Foundation. Donating to the museum also brings a lot of info that doesn't get as wide distribution as it should.
