Tamarinds got the big wire removed, clamp off and a trim. Ended up with a nice bend like I wanted in a short time. Will take some pictures tomorrow. Wont look like much but should be able to start to see the shape now.

I also want a tamarind. Hopefully for a great price, maybe free. Great look so far on yours.

Just finished another trim on the little tamarind. Not much longer and I will switch over to all clip and grow. Been a fun tree to work with.

Tree will attempt to straighten itself, bends could have been more aggressive.

Let's look for branchlets and flowers.

1 leaf at the top, 2 to the side, 3 at the bottom.
More than 1 leaf and the top will thicken vigorously.

Also control at the top the new shoots that can pop out.

Enjoying watching you train.
Thanks.
Good Day
Anthony

Decided to cut off one of the upper branches. It was way to thick. Almost looked like it had 2 leaders. Little by little its getting there. Very fun tree to work with.
Area needing removed in red.

After removing and wiring a little more.

I love the bark on these, I still need to get one.

Love the bark also. This little tree grows real well here in Dallas. Love to find a bigger one now that I have a little understanding of them.

Wasn't that long ago it looked like this

That bark is not mature, it will change to a flaking bark after 8 to 10 years.
Prepare mentally for a very different look.
If I get a chance I will show you the next stage, both of you.

Flowering is also months long.
Good Day

Changing bark and flowering all good things to look forward to.
How old before flowering?

Bark and Flowering after approximately 8 to 10 years down here.
Might be a bit slower on your side.

It is also not branch dense, leaf dense.
Good Day

* Tree does not have exposed roots save through erosion, prepare for trunk
thickening and uplifting

500 years - I believe India

Hey @c54fun is that a homemade trunk/branch bender?

Yes. I used parts from a small bender and then drilled holes in some steel I had laying around to make it a longer one.

Worked a small amount on the small chop to smooth it out a little.

Zone envy again. Some examples of this species I could/should have bought at BonsaiWest up here always leave me wanting/needing.
Growing season is just a wee bit inadequate.
But the bark!?!? Some of the stuff Michael brought up from Florida thru the years was amazing!
But up here your always chasing vigor......the whole seven months indoors deal...:(

But even @sorce will tell you....needs to be reduced.

Not criticizing. In fact, like what you do!!:D:D:D:D:D It's a beautiful day.o_O:):):):)

Been letting this tree grow out and it has become "cousin it".
