Submitted for your perusal, my Ficus in its new blue pot. I love the color of the pot, blue is one of my favorite colors.

I decided to start over with this tree, so I air layered it late May and seperated the layer Jun 25 and potted the layer in the pot my Ilex was in before it froze to death this spring.

This is the layer.

That is not the finished angle, I will tilt it to the left maybe 60 degrees to make it more straight up growing with the branch at the right drooping a little but I had to cover teh roots for now as they came out perfectly circling the layer.

Back? For now at least as this is how I planted it, once straightened more this will probably be the front, picture it tilted to the right until the apex is directly over the base to get an idea what I am talking about.

This is what I am left with.

I'm having a little trouble visualizing the plan for the top part. The leftover base reminds me of one of Al's Maple chops. It has the beginnings of some nice taper and movement.

750 post from you... but I think this was my very favorest

So, either you like blue too, which would be cool, or you are being sarcastic. If the latter is the case then you have cut me deeply, I am wounded both emotionally and on a physical level and may not have the fortitude to attempt to post another 750 posts! That is a shame as B-nut will be left to people like you with not much to say except comments aimed at demeaning another.

Please inform me of your intention in this post as I am unsure how to proceed.

The base is getting tons of new growth.

The layer still looks much the same as above, very little new growth as most the energy is going into root production.
I will post a picture in a month or so after I see some new growth, defoliate it and it starts to come back some.
