Here is the X media on the left before, I have only wired this tree once to set the primary branches in 2013 and left it to grow after a repot(2014) due to some health issues(very bad soil)

I cut out the strong runners and removed very weak inner growth, then proceeded to giving it it's first proper wiring, I will focus on getting the pads more refined(tighten up the foliage) the next couple of seasons and then do a fine detail wiring on it

here is what I've done:

and then the other sides and some close ups of the foliage and a top viewX_media3[1].jpg :X_media2[1].jpg

Outstanding 3-dimensional design work! For future photo shoots, if you use a solid colored backdrop it really helps reveal detail in the folliage for us. Other than that keep it up! I'd love to keep watching your progress here

Awesome work! What kind of soil are you using?

Wow nice job Herman. You do have a artistic side to you.

Looking great Herman!
But. How come you're wiring the fiancé s tree?
Is she cracking the whip already?
Lolol! Nah all my trees and her smaller trees are good for this season and her big junipers is so much work for her atm with baby san that she left the work to me. I also had so much work and other stuff to get done that this tree took me 3 weeks to wire and place branches

Thanks everyone for the kind replies

Hi bunje

Due to the availability of akadama and pumice and other japanese soils im using a mix of sifted composted pine bark something called klinker (by product of clay brick manufacturing) and washed silica sand. Its very free draining for 4 years before the pine bark starts to break down too fine, then I have to repot

Thanks for the compliment dude
