My 'Ben Oki' azalea

@barrosinc : no idea, sorry.
@erb.75 : They only last about 10-20 days, then turn to mush, then crispy. Best to remove before they get mushy so as not to damage the new growth just starting as flowers are fading.

Has anyone heard anything recently about how Mr. Oki is doing? I've heard he is unwell.

love those trees...where did u find the ume, just wondering? I've wanted one for years but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Most of them I see look good for 1-2 weeks/year and look like crap the rest of the time. Your ume actually looks good in full leaf! Congrats on having the best looking ume i've ever seen. any pictures of it in flower?

thanks for the link...beautiful! I don't know if I can ever enjoy them this far up north...the time of year they bloom it's like -10 degrees here in Ohio...not until I get a cold room anyway! until then I'll just ogle over yours

Nice, Brian. We have not had anything close to cold here in Mobile, mine are still green and some are actively growing. I wish we would get a cold snap, not a bad one, but at least a little cold.

I have one that Ben styled for me and hope to post it in the spring. It is a satsuki, Gumpo white. Great memories with Ben, he was always interesting to talk to when he came.

Looks happy. Wowzza'....so many flower buds with just the one open in the center...nice!!
Great pot!:cool: Very nice work!!:D

Brian - Great tree, how tall is it? When repotting an azalea from original soil to pot do you bareroot or do you wedge the rootball?
