Probably the most exciting picture ever. After 1 month in the fridge. Bonsai soil and then sprinkle organic topsoil on top.

I pulled up 30 of the seedlings cut them around the red strip on the trunk with a razor blade. I then let them soak in a water homex solution. I then put them back in the Anderson flat in a hole and squeezed soil around them. I then did 20 cutting the same way dipped in the water/homex solution then dipped in the homex powder and back in the Anderson flat. Well see how it goes. I did a similar process for some white pines earlier in the year and only lost 3 out of 20.

I think shade and small pots has attributed to the slow growth.
Few more none cuttings

Big fan of grow bags

I have planted a handful of pairs close to each other in hopes they fuse together and create a mother daughter type composition

You will have another opportunity to create Mother Daughter compositions by retaining low branches later in development and wiring accordingly. Have fun!

I decided to try some of the non cutting grown ones with exposed roots. I tried 2 with pond baskets and one in just a cut pot. I did 5 in just tall pots. I ran out of my larger soil so this will be it for a while.

Two that I did over rocks. Threw some more wire on. They aren’t any that I did in the tall pots

This is the repot. For the purpose of the contest I potted this up. In the real world, I would have stuck it in the ground. I’ll probably try and make this a shohin
