Has anyone ever ordered trees from Mr. Maple.com? I am looking to buy some maples and possibly a couple of pines. Has anyone had good experience with them?

Nothing but good words about mr maple. 99% of the trees are grafted but occasionally they have non grafted ones. It will usually say in the description if it is from seed. They ship super fast and their trees are pretty good size. Most of the ones in the picture were their one gallon sizes

Awesome thank you I appreciate the advice and your pictures.

Been buying from them for years. Matt and Tim are nice. Grafts suck, but getting rarer material is cheap and easy from them. Buy with confidence.

No issues. Bought several trees from them. Only issue I have with them is they release a set of trees for sale every week so it variable what they have and when they have it. They have a huge social media presence. At least for plant people.

Sign up for their news letter and have $ ready. They release 10 new trees every Tuesday mornings at 10am. They don’t always have many of the ones they release and some often sell out within the hour. I have missed several cultivars I wanted by waiting.

I had the same experience with graft quality there. Good folks, but a poorly grafted tree can cause growth issues.

The best source of a wide variety of trees quality grafted for bonsai I ever found is Mendocino Maples. I have a couple of their trees at present. Each fall they offer a number of these grafted for bonsai up for sale. Sometimes they have a few JM’s etc left this time of the year.

Just a thought.

cheers

I have several trees from Mr Maple and a few from Mendocino Maple and a few from forestfarm.com. All three provide excellent trees and great service.
I'm not that concerned about grafts, good or bad, they're all workable trees. Acquiring the cultivars I want to work with is my main concern, but if you mention that you want to bonsai when you order they will all select a better tree for you. Better meaning lower, cleaner grafts, but you still have to work the trees.
