I have this azalea, I got it at the local botanical garden plant sale. It had a less than pencil thin trunk and also a twin in the pot with it. I separated the two but unfortunately its twin did not survive the operation. That was two years ago. Today, it has really trunked up, and grows like crazy. It is a satsuki, momo no haru. Here it is before the trim:DSC00265-1.jpg DSC00268-1.jpg DSC00269-1.jpg

If it were mine I would be inclined to go for an informal cascade. Nice one!

I really hate that there is not a place where you can just go and put your hands on pots and pick the right one.
Oh but there is.

Update

This one has not gotten much attention of late, so I decided it was time for a haircut. Hopefully I did not get it too late and will still get some flowers, we shall see.

I think this will be the repotting angle this spring, if I can get a pot.

Nicely growing plant!
It will be a beautiful cascading azalea, I'm sure!
What are your thoughts regarding those first two branches on the right side?

And sure you will get the appropriate pot, don't be in a rush :)

I hope to ditch the lowest one one day, it is helping to heal a wound on the trunk that was there when I bought it.

That is really something, can't wait to see it in a pot. Does the Miller Lite contribute to your talent? That's what I drink, but maybe I'm not drinking enough..

Well, now that you mention it, in fact, it has been know to get the creative juices flowing, but only if it is on sale. If not, PBR, has more creative power. However, there is a fine line where there juices can overload. A few trees have had some odd styling at times. It usually involves some head-scatchin' the next day, "What was I thinking?"
