Alrighty Folks!

Here is a Crescent pot...

Textured, with a "Molasses (I guess that's what I'm calling it 😂) " glaze, applied in "High-road fashion, in an attempt to highlight some deeper texture with the lighter color of the clay body. (Also a Buff, whols-sand glaze around that lip)70E86C2B-74E5-46CA-A5F5-7B4523903AF8.jpegEF827096-5A31-42CB-B39C-80F30C323868.jpegFC2FDFC6-6807-454F-BFD7-4F9667E89954.jpegE877708A-3C10-44D1-A3C6-E49CCF639CCC.jpegE29DFDA1-AA46-4213-B6C1-45D247A52238.jpeg38D94575-4D83-4F16-927D-3EF46EFBB1A1.jpegD62CB16B-2D95-4D52-B39C-A07A0A00AEE5.jpegA48A7302-4275-4979-89F3-F776142D0A95.jpeg

For transparency, I will discuss the WORST facets of any fabrication...

My problems with this one ;

I should have "finished" the inside better.. those drape folds aren't "cool" like I THOUGHT they'd be

Also.. overworked foot bottoms.. a small issue that i've noticed and will NOT be happening anymore.

I'd like to get 35 USD for this one.. (before shipping)

Thank you for looking!

🤓

Drape molds are fabulous. You just need to rib the surface smooth before you drape the clay.
Agreed!.or even/also AFTER... While I WILL be doing this from now on,. I meant like the "Folds"..when I drape over more "natural shapes".. I have to rib the transitions smooth.. because I do not like the... the "folds". HAHAHA!

I have to smooth out the folds on nearly every pot I make using this method. As you are aware it requires presence.

Indeed.. I found this all out after finally being able to fire.... and observe all the pieces I made over winter.

The next time around will be even better!

🤓

Finally got a chance to use one. I was training this tree as a cascade but it wasn't looking all that great. I decided to repot it into a training pot, change the angle and just allow it to regain some health. The root ball was much healthier than I thought it would be so I decided to use this pot instead. It should look great as it fills back in.

@HorseloverFat are you still making pots? I used it in a YouTube video. I can put a link in my description if you have an Etsy or anything like that.

DEFINITELY! I throw pots in the winter!!!

I have 15, raw-glazed and ready for firing.. I was aiming for 25 to fund my kiln... But I guess one more year of small kiln it'll have to be!

I will start firing once I start getting 12 hour spurts around 50 dF.

I will be trying to set up an Ebay store soon!! For ceramics AND plants.. but normally I can only fire like 8-10 pots at a time.. less if they are bigger.. so they normally sell here on BNut just fine.

But when I get all the soft-brick I need to make my big, propane beast... My production will increase.

I will keep you informed, friend!
