Mike, how's that concentration of miracle gro in temps over 90? I killed several trees last year fertilizing in 90+degrees at a concentration of 1 big end scoop per gallon, BUT (big but) I was also fertilizing with osmocote, so the root burn could well have been due to the osmocote and not miracle gro

We rarely get temps over 90 here but I still use it with no bad effects.

I think the only time I burned trees, was with chemical "slow release" fertilizer. I threw a bunch on the soil surface in summer, and BAM! Burned up foliage, looked pretty sad. It was just some cheap stuff I bought, never tested, now I know...

I had the same happen with Vigoro slow release.

I thought a lot of people used fertilizer like I do.

Seems like They Would Right?

But not that many truly do.

I'm leaving my pony packs on and fishin twice a week.

overfeeding+agressive watering+modern substrate),

In the beginning...
Dark Blue!

Was in jest...and we still don't know what soil you Use?

I Only say this because Walter makes a very solid point that you must follow everything Exactly or this will not work the same...

And for the record...

I'm sure W.P. soil is way more free draining than pure DE
And a bit more free draining than DE and lava.

Pure DE being the "wettest" soil this process can work with....carefully.

If we increase the concentration, the growth will be dramatic, but very tasty to insects.
It would become worse in the rainy season, and that is talking about following the directions on
the package.

As I can make some time, let me show you a year's growth in the grow trough.
Stay tuned.
Good Day

* rains came and yup, the leaf cutter ants [ Bachac ] are out in full force. Plates of orange peel laced with
chemical x are being served nightly.
Tamarind leaves being scattered around the trees, the queen must be served, the nest must grow.
Tender yummy leaves.

And we stopped fertilizing a week ago.

Bachac and Large grasshoppers, wanting to live.

It doesn't get more free draining really.
Water runs through fast.
And I used to fertilizer like that with pure D.E.
And for the record.
I am not jesting when it comes to this.
If you read the Walter Pall watering and fertilizing article you will read that it doesn't matter what substrate is used as long as it's inorganic.
and we still don't know what soil you Use?
If you don't know by now that's your fault not mine.

Wrong again.
This will work with field soil and nursery soil.
Maybe Walter never used it with them but I do.
I've yet to burn a tree.
Don't even know what it looks like.

I grabbed some miracle gro but noticed that calcium is not on the label.

Am I missing it?
