First Mimosa, and I'm fairly new to working with nursery material. I've always bought trees worked by other people. So im looking for criticism/ insight on my attempt.

I cut most of the new growth down, raising the top of the canopy about an inch, removed much of the smaller leaves growing directly off the trunk to reveal more of the established hardwood. It's still relatively new to its environment, so I avoided anything too drastic.

Tell me how I did. What I could've done better? How you would go about working the tree, ect ect... any and all advice, criticism or praise.

Eventually I'd like to put it into a small, shallow, round pot. Keeping its upright style with a dense canopy, much like it currently is. (Unfortunately only had one before photo)

These things grow like weeds here in Alabama... I'm gonna try one again... looks good
Brought it home 3 weeks ago, and it's probably gained 2 inches of new growth in that time. It's a cool looking little tree for sure.

How big are the leaves usually? Do they get any smaller than what’s in the picture? Looks cool

They're about an inch and a half long. I honestly don't know the ramification potential of this tree. It's my first one. Some of the leaves closer to the trunk are about 3/4 of an inch, so it may be possible to get them smaller.

Good use of the anchor rocks. Rocks are one of my favorite tools.
