I have a Michelia figo (banana shrub) in a pot before I got interested in bonsai. Is this a desirable specified to pursue?

I have a Michelia figo (banana shrub) in a pot before I got interested in bonsai. Is this a desirable specified to pursue?

Not an ideal choice for bonsai. Leaves too big, branch structure is coarse with little ramification. I would suggest using some training to make an attractive tree either in the ground or as a potted tree. For bonsai get something more appropriate like an azalea, gardenia, Loropetalum, junipers, whatever.
