G'day all, this Tree is one which I collected in August 2013.
Melaleuca rhaphiophylla or paperbark tree as commonly known.

If I recall correctly, Melaleuca are a major invasive pest in south Florida. You guys down there should be able to dig up bunches of these guys. Great tree.

If I recall correctly, Melaleuca are a major invasive pest in south Florida. You guys down there should be able to dig up bunches of these guys. Great tree.

Yes, they are an invasive in Florida. I remember some growing in my neighborhood in Tampa. I loved peeling the "paper bark" off of the trees as a child.

Do you have something in mind for this Tree?, would love to hear as I'm considering a different approach
with the next proper style now that 3 years in I have a good network of branches to choose from.

Yes Florida has the Melaleuca quinquenervia which has become rather a problem. The Climate must be even better than Aus because appartently seeds have a far greater
rate of viability than here. I will post my M.quinquenervia sometime soon.

No mate, Love the whispy-ness of this tree, as Giga does.
Wife has one that needs severe reducing

tightening up the foliage in closer to the trunk will make the trunk appear even more impressive, kind of framing the trunk with tight pads. but that will make the tree look like a pine bonsai? I guess you can decide to bring the foliage closer to the trunk a little bit and in that way keep the current feeling the tree imparts with the current branch structure setup..

what is your plan for it?

Oh sweet, some Melaleuca trees react differently to drastic pruning. Some species you definately can not cut off All the green leaves.
If your unsure ask and maybe I can help(maybe not) .

Ok, my plan is at present to allow some more thickening of the branches after I unwire the Tree.
I think I still have some time to spend after that on the branching and then Foliage etc after that.
Yeah I will tighten up the foliage but definatly allowing branching and Foliage to Feel a little
"Traditional" whilst still retaining a "typical" feel for the species.

It was in need of a repot pretty bad but last time I took the vid for this Tree I accidentally busted the Pot it was in.
This has forced me to give the Tree it's much needed repot and get it ready for the coming Spring.
Maybe 2 years in this container and you can see how many Roots are in there, great just perfect,
the only way out of the container was a hammer, safest option for the new roots.
