This oak is very weird, I germinate a lot of acorns, and most of them sprout by april, this guy sprouted in may, he really took his time. When he germinated I pulled him out and saw no taproot, there were fine roots coming out of both ends of the acorn, haven't really seen anything like that before, so I cut one off and stuck him in a little ceramic tray with 2 drainage holes, a perlite layer on the bottom and the rest is 1mm pumiceWhatsApp Image 2024-06-16 at 12.09.20(1).jpeg

Interesting small sized tree start-up. I’ve tried to grow English Oak from acorns. Unfortunately, the local chipmunks and squirrels consume the growing acorns quickly. The English Oak acorn may be a special tasty treat to the local critters.
