I Posted this tree when I trunk chopped it last year and just moved it out of the plastic concrete mixing tub into the 22” training pot.
I buried it pretty low its first year to help protect the roots from drying out in the Florida sun, and this year found that there were three new sets of double knees that have grown When I potted it higher in its new pot. The new leader is one years growth. Later this year there will be more carving and eventually it will be some form of a flat top. For size reference the pot is sitting on a 24” patio block.

That tree is a true stonker! Have you had any budding lower down on the trunk? I'm wanting to see more branching down but can also see a successful design without it.

if you submerge it deeply will the knees keep growing taller until they reach the surface?

Yes

Yes, there are plenty of lower branches that have come out in the last couple of years. Right now im just trying to concentrate on the top canopy and carving. Just added another picture.

Here’s a couple more pictures in the sun. I cut the split down a little with a sharp knife to eventually look like a split in the trunk to compensate for such a fat tree with an eventual flat top design. Hopefully it will callus over well eventually.

Wow, what a solid foundation for what is going to be an awesome tree!

You seem to jave some super trees...
what is that beast on the right in pic 1?
schefflera or fused ficus?

Holy crap thats a huge BC! Great material. Like JB said, same for the others- looks like the one on the right is a schefflera.

A little update on the beast. it sill has many years of healing ahead of it but so far it’s coming along pretty nice for the second year

Another update on this large Bald Cypress along with some other tropicals. It’s starting to callous over and is really growing out as I intended. These guys are all pretty large.
