Starting this thread to document this recently collected tamarack
I found this one right underneath one of the taller Tamarack in the bog. It’s obvious from the structure, how it was bending out for light.
The bog. It was nice being able to walk out to it this time. This years weather has been something else.
I’m not sure whether planning on a extreme windswept or perhaps a cascade.
First things first, I need to keep it alive.
I’m wondering if I should cut back this tree to aid in recovery?
Or perhaps that’s counterintuitive, and Tamarack will build new roots faster with all of the foliage.
Fair amount of roots in the moss ball, but never as much as I hope for.
Other side.
I would love to hear any feedback/knowledge about reducing the top to help recovery. Or, like I said,
Perhaps that’s not beneficial.
