Pictures in roughly the order my wife took them. I'll also post pictures of the guide with all the listings. Enjoy.

Really loved the ROR trident and the Hinoki forest, as well as the Shinpaku in the first batch (a raft base with two rootballs).

Plenty of mostly white Ume. I'm hoping to see some more red ones in the second part of the show. Another great Hinoki group with a Chojubai/Satsuki planted with it. This giant round Chinese Quince was also really beautiful.

On to the second floor basement area. Highlights here were a quite impressive semi-cascade Japanese Pepper plant, a massive looking, but actually quite small Chojubai, and this Issai Orange, which is a species I'd never seen before.

Lastly, the Shohin, and Mini (under 10cm) displays which are my favorite. The cascading Shishigashira was quite unique. Looking forward to round 2!

Wow ..They allowed you to take photos and videos at the arguably the most prestigious bonsai show in the world??? That's great and thanks for sharing.

Part 2 started today.

Forgive the sub par photos as they were taken with my cheap android.

The extreme cascade in this first set was my personal favourite from the show.

A bit of a disappointment today was although I saw a video over a month ago with Mr. Kimura stating he was bringing a bunch of trees, he had nothing in the show this year at all.. I was really looking forward to seeing some of his work in person.

Favorites here were the ezo spruce clump and the shinpaku with the ribbon-like trunk. The very delicate trident group on the rock was also really interesting.

Some more big shinpaku in this group as well as a couple of really nice Chinese Quince. The maple in the second to last photo was maybe 12cm tall at most with incredible branching.

Last bunch. Here you'll see the Sakura from the first part that the Japanese Bonsai Association has on display but now in flower.

No mini displays this time, but quite a few nice shohin displays to be seen.

I really loved the flowering quince in the last photo. It was about 19ish cm with a chunky base.
