Maybe everyone already knows but it took me an embarrassingly long time to ever notice this. The little notch at the base of most hand pruners? That's there for cutting wire without damaging the edge.
Could be helpful for people like me who can lose tools within seconds of putting them down and without even moving an inch. You know, middle of repotting, time to wire the tree in, pliers that were just in hand are gone. Still doesn't solve the twisting wire without pliers problem but it'll get you a little closer while you search and swear. There may also be other scenarios where its actually useful...
