This is an update to my first post: https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/first-post-introduction.49981/#post-862053
I collected 4 ERC trees about 1 year ago. Only 1 tree survived the harsh Louisiana summer; it was also the largest of the 4 collected and the only one planted in the ground (the rest were put directly into pots).
I recently potted it and moved it to the East side of my home as it has some browning from the intense afternoon heat. If I can keep it alive through the summer I will begin pruning and styling in the fall.IMG_6956.jpg

I pulled 5 ERC this summer (before I knew better). Two I potted, three I ground planted in my old garden bed. The topsoil in the garden bed is about 6-10” deep before you hit the clay. 4/5 of them have thrived. Unfortunately, the one that seems to be on the way out is the most interesting of the bunch.

Your tree seems to have a thick trunk for the size of the tree, at least compared to what grows around here.
