This tree started as nursery stock and was highlighted initially in my House money thread. This is my favorite of the house money trees. The trunk is powerful and has great movement. The jins and sharia are rugged now and should only age better with time.

The final Image and 360 shows its most current styling. After talking with bro @Colorado he def agrees the pot choice needs a change and its planting position needs shifting left of center. @mattspinniken suggested also the lightening or jining of a branch half way up the right side of the tree to keep the movement going left.

Input welcome.

Put in a better pot. Tree is very healthy and back budding well. Pads forming nicely. Unfortunately though the tree seems to be surviving entirely on on the live vein running along the back side of the trunk. Meaning that the bark you see on the front side of this tree is actually no longer moving resources. I will address this in summer.

Did a trim and really dialed in the branch structure for long term growth. As you can see in the pic, the entire front section of the trunk is now dead. The live vein runs along the back side. Does it look odd not being able to see the live vein really well from my chosen front?

It is better to see the vein moving on the trunk, but, on your tree, the live vein can be already seen on a small part of the trunk (on the left), and maybe with time, the live vein will developp, thicken, and will overflow on the side of the trunk ?

In idea : you could also gradually and carefully accentuate the shari on the back side, to encourage the developpment of the live vein on the sides you want ? ->

Anyway, it is rare but sometimes we can see Kokufu juniper with a very discreet live vein like this one ->

For me, the front of your tree is the one you chose, with much more character/oldiness than the back side.

And for me, your styling of this tree is very good : the before - after is amazing 😍 👍

Thanks for saying Clem! This is def becoming a very loved tree of mine, considering its origins. Im def hoping I can get the live vein to swell enough to peak around the front Shari eventually. Very much like your virtual.
