I made a halfass tanuki with this thing about 6-7 years ago. No repot since then.
Threaded juniper limbs in various holes and grooves in the deadwood piece.
It has started to brown various shoots and I'd like to know why.
None of the other junis are doing this.
I can pull the dead ones out and it doesn't seem to change anything with the situation.
There are NO white paper shook out bugs.
Gets full sun til about 2:00

What do you do when a juniper just ...messes with you?

Put the white paper around the pot instead, get some of the heat away from the soil.
It might help.

No clue otherwise.
I have one juniper that drops small branchlets every year, just weak stuff. But no real clue about the why, other than general neglect - it's a three second walk away from the rest so I forget to water it sometimes.

Well, 3 seconds to devote to a juniper seems like overkill.
I mean unless it's a rare ....cascade.... 😄
