Does anyone have an idea what species this may be? Is it worth digging up and trying to do something with it? It’s in a front flowerbed and is 30-40 years old.

Hmmm, it looks like many junipers.

It would help to know where you’re located
And what would be a Likely candidate for your region.
Hard to tell.

I’m in north central Ohio, near Cleveland. It would’ve been something you could’ve found in a nursery 35 to 40 years ago.

Cleveland has a nice club, have you reached out to them? If to do decide to dig, they'd be a good resources for best time to dig it up, aftercare... It looks like something I'd try, a lot of work for sure.

I have not spoken with anyone in the Cleveland club. I can never seem to find the time to get to a meeting.
