Ok, so this is going to be a bit of a noob-ish question... particularly because I am asking questions about a tree I bought that I should have had answers to before making the purchase...

I have worked with procumbens juniper and common juniper, and even some Chinese juniper, but I have stuck pretty much to "basic" stock. Today, for the first time, I bought a "Named" cultivar: Juniperus Chinensis 'Daub's Frosted'

I have heard a lot of discussion on different varieties of Chinese juniper (Shimpaku, San Jose, Fomenia, etc.) but I couldn't find anything on this variety. Is that because it is not a good bonsai subject, or because it is just an uncommon or regional variety, or is it just an uncommon name for a particular cultivar?

My experience with junipers has pretty much been that they respond pretty much the same way, regardless of the variety, with the exception of how often they put out juvenile foliage. However, I have heard people talk about some of the varieties like they need special care.

So, my noob-ish question is, does anyone have experience with this variety, and if so, is there any special care I need to know about?

It is a Juniperus x pfitzeriana which is a hybrid designation that includes certain cultivars that are crosses between Juniperus chinensis and Juniperus sabina. Treat it like any other low growing juniper species.
