Are all copies of john naka's bonsai techniques 1 signed or stamped with his signature? I just got a paperback version and it appears to be signed but it did not say that in the item description

My BT I is not signed but my BT II is.

It is the content that matters though and the signature is only if you intend to collect the book and resell later.

I have to agree with Dario that what matters in a book -- unless you are a collector -- is the text, not an author's signature and Naka's books all say the same thing, signed or not.

Bonsai books are not ranked among profitable literary collectibles.

Mines signed but I got it long ago around 2001 or 2002 I think. Too bad I didn't take care of it its a wrinkled mess. I think I even watered it a few times.

Here are the pics. The last two are where it appears that the sharpie bled through to the next page and where the stamp seems to have bled on the previous page. I bought it for the content and purposely got one that didnt say signed copy because it was the cheapest one. To my surprise I opened it and there is what appears to be mr naka's signature. I'm not a book collector just a tree collector but if it is his signature I think that's pretty cool

Definitely!!! I would choose a signed book too, even pay a little premium for it. (for lordy)

Then it a dual purpose item. A Book and a Tool... I really don't care if either are signed I just care they both work. The few times I have come across anything signed at a bargain I have donated them to places or people that find value in it.
