Hi guys I'm just wondering how I can get my elms to grow branch's where I want it to coz I'm going to chop

Pictures are worth a thousand words... Also, elms tend to throw way more branches than you want all over the place.

The plan was to already have the leader so I can cut just above it and shape the wound so hopefully the wouldnt be any scar after it heals. I'd just grow the leader till it comes part of the trunk and then let it grow branch's I have kinda got one I could use as the leader in was just looking for options

I'm not going to do it now I'm going to do it in summer

I don't have really chopped ever, but i think you might want to have a fatter trunk before it (and much vigor ofc).

MaverickHeath,

there is a very good chance if, acclimated that elm will grow outdoors in England.
Especially near a south wall.
Where they come from in China, is similar the UK in winter temperatures.

As usual test but not on the mother plant - root cuttings normally have the most personality, normal cuttings will also
work or buy a second or third ugly plants.

Try ground growing or tubs in spring. You might get a pleasant surprise.
Seen the site - Bonsai4me ?
Chap is also English.
Good Day
Anthony
