Saw this Hinoki in a video from the Omiya bonsai museum and I was just wondering if you guys think it’s a raft or a multiple trunk? What do you guys think?
Really beautiful tree.

To me it's more of a group planting / forest because I don't see a connected base of trees.

Agree, looks like a group. Beautiful display though. Are there any hinoki rafts on display?
My focus keeps going to the right side of the tree.

Those two trunks on the right side would be a nice bonsai on its own.

Looks like a group of individuals, but could possibly be a multi-trunk with the connecting area hidden under the soil.

Raft style is a trunk laid horizontally along the ground, and the branches begin to grow upwards as if they were new individual trunks. This gives no indication of such.

I actually found an explanation on their Instagram account. Turns out it is in fact a group planting. I thought it was a multi trunk and was wondering how the trunks were so far apart.
Group planting explains it.. hah
