Is Sweet Tamarind Genetically Sweet from its Seeds?

I bought sweet tamarind from the store, ate the pulp and planted the seeds expecting that the seeds will germinate and grow into a tree that produces sweet tamarind.
I am not clear whether the sweetness is genetic. Can someone please enlighten me?
