So the temps have dropped and its time to bring my trees inside. This is my first winter since i started doing bonsai. I have a mini jade (port afra) and some cuttings. The only problem with bringing them inside is two cats that love to eat flowers/plants. Any ideas to how i can cat-proof my trees to protect them?

Put your trees in an aquarium equipped with grow lights. Either that or if you have time and patience, you actually can train the cats to leave your plants alone.
PS: Positive re-enforcement alone doesn't work with cats. They soon associate clawing the plants with getting food. Zinging them with a plastic pellet gun that just sting them a little works much faster. Make sure they see you zinging them with the pellet gun. Later on place the pellet gun next to the plants. They will leave both alone.

Get a squirt bottle. After getting hit with water a couple times, the cats will stay away. The pellet gun seems a little extreme.
