Well I for one am finding some of the responses in this thread absolutely histerical.

Porter, here is my advice to you.
Please start doing as much reading as you can. Read every book on bonsai you can get your hands on.
Read the threads here that interest you.
I guarantee the answers to many of your questions are easily found if you just look.
If you do that, then people will have more patience with you when you do have other questions whose answers arent so easily found.
As for finding your own patience. You need to realize and remember that trees work on a time scale of seasons and years. When we do bonsai, we need to slow ourselves down to their time scale because they cant speed up to ours.
Keep working and learning on inexpensive stock. Dont spend money on expensive stuff until youre ready and can afford it. No offense, but youre not ready yet in my opinion but keep learning. One day you will be.
