So 4-5 years ago I collected what I thought were hophornbeam seedlings in upstate PA. I put them in my grow bed to fatten up. As they grew I could see that I misidentified them. They are sweet birch, very fast growers.
Today I pulled 3 of them. Easy job with an corded sawzall. 10 minutes tops.
Here they are:

These were planted on pieces of wood or a rock. 2 more coming out in a few more days when they bud out more.
Anyone growing these?
