Does anyone know if it is possible to graft a JBP scion onto a Italian Stone Pine (pinus pinea)? They are the same genus, so technically it should be possible, right? Has anyone had any experience with Pinus pinea? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi Misfit11, I also have one Stone pine. It is very strong specimen. I never try to graft JBP on it. If I was you, I would try because it doesn't hurt to do that. Bonhe

This photo shows my grafts made in March of this year, JBP in Pinea, 100% success (8 grafts in one pine). However, I have done pinea grafts in pinea with 0% success, only approach grafting is 100% success.
