Fukien Tea leaf growing odd

I am curious to what could be the reason why they grew like this

How old is that leaf? Nothing is forever, most leaves last about a year and look pretty crummy by the time they fall off...

These two were new growth about 3 weeks old

What does the while tree look like? How long where it is now?

I don't know the age of the tree, I received it as a gift

That's a hellava camera there, fella! So, you haven't had the tree very long. Give it more sun in the house as close to the glass as possible, no filmy curtains inbetween. They don't really like to get really hot, so if it's a south or west exposure and there is a lot of "hot" sun defined as direct sun for more than 8 continuous hours, make sure it doesn't get bone dry. Otherwise, water it when the soil is dry to the touch. You may have to dig your finger through the sphagnum moss or whatever that is on top. I wouldn't worry too much about a few malformed leaves.
You could check carefully for caterpillars. A bite taken out of a new shoot will make a weird looking leaf. I've had them indoors before, likely hatched from eggs layed while outside.
This winter I've found a couple crawling across my floor and wondered what the heck they were doing there since the plant room is all the way across the house! And no plant damage, what were they eating?
Check soil surface for them too as there are some that will climb up to browse then return to the soil line to rest.
