If this were mine I would repot into a colander with well draining mix in late winter/early spring before growth gets moving. At that time I would wire the trunk for shape and then fertilize heavy the remainder of the year.

Define nice!

Hell...define twists!

Sounds contradictory.

As my definition of twists, on this tree with branches that start so high, will never be nice.

Movement, gentle movement can be nice.

But "twists", twists sound an ugly mass of bunched up trunk.

Trunk movement in 3 dimensions desireable. No boring S curves or repeated bends. Need large growing box, pot or ground to grow trunk size. Collanders plastic garbage!;)
