This is the one I got from Miami Tropical Bonsai.
Just going to let it recover from the change in environment before I do anything to it.

What I would like to work on when that time comes, is getting better ramification in some of those fine branches.

Nice movement should become a nice han kengai with some good ramification in the future.
It ramification goes faster when you defoliate it a couple of times. But only do that on a healthy vigorous tree.

No comments, critiques? Are the pics I took that bad? lol?

How's this one doing now? Adjusted well? I missed this thread when you originally posted it.

Paradox, I am going to be completely honest with you...
the reason why you are probably not getting many responses
is that there is view towards these kind of trees by most here
as mass produced junk, that is sold at big box stores, and the
mall. Hence the ridiculous name that is often associated with
them, in order to try and belittle them... "mallsai".

It's kinda funny when one thinks about it because often when
these same folks see a pine shaped in the same exact "S" shape
fashion, which by the way are also mass produced... They are
somehow really cool ??? Go Figure...

I suggest you look beyond this and make an awesome tree
regardless. You really can do a lot with these, and they are
awesome trees to try new techniques and ideas on, for they are
pretty much indestructible not to mention very fast growing !!!

By the way... I personally think the 3rd pic you
posted has the most potential... It would have to
be repotted straight up and down, seeing that it
is currently leaning against the viewer.

Thank you for posting Sawgrass. It is unfortunate that there is that point of view. I dont agree with that assessment and I dont care really. This little ficus is, IMO better than many Ive seen posted lately.

I bought this tree because I really liked the windswept/semi cascade movement and the branching. It looks different to me and it doesnt look like the typical "S" shaped that you see too many of. I dont think the angles of these pictures really captures what I liked about this tree.

Of the two ficus I bought this one is my favorite and I love it.

Im probably going to look into repotting it this spring because I want to make sure that rock isnt taking up too much space for it. I might go with a slightly bigger pot as it seems to be a bit top heavy. I definitely want to work on increasing the ramification on it after that. If I am envisioning what you mean, I think your suggestion of potting it straight up and down would make it look more like one of those mass produced "S"shaped trees. I am partial to pic number 1 and 2 because they show off the drooping branch better.

I personally like how it is currently in the pot...I think it looks like something growing in nature. I just wonder...if many were busy with holiday things. December was hard for me to get on the forum for long...just brief periods and I missed many posts.
