Esolin's Acorn to Oak Tree Thread

Stopped by the park today to see if any acorns were dropping yet. They were, so I scooped up a handful of Cork Oak, and another species that I think is Holly Oak. There aren't a ton of cultivated oak species that love Mediterranean climates, and based on web image searches, Holly Oak seems most likely. I'll get them soaking and planted soon. It feels like too many, but I have a feeling they'll thin themselves out quickly. My seedling survival rate is typically about 50%. I either over water or under water. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I planted my acorns a month or so ago and they're starting to pop. In addition to Cork and Holly oak, I planted a couple of Coast Live oak acorns too, just because.
