This is one of the elms I'm going to be collecting soon... I feel silly asking but I rather double check and be right then dig up the rong tree.

And I have a hard time remembering all the different types of trees. Still larning. So if you could let me know for sure if this is an elm it would be greatly appreciated!

Hard telling to be sure. Maybe a picture of the branch/twig structure. It's the best way for me to identify dormant trees.

Hope this helps...
Had pics of it in the fall but I deleted all my pics by accident a bit ago... aaahhhhh....

LOL I'm not sure what you mean there buddy... I work in a wood mill and farm the land all summer...

And I would never put dawn on my skin . I beleave in organic as much as possible. I use home made soap.

Hops hornbeam. Bark is too flaky for elm. The internodes and twigs are too fine for cherry.
I have some of these trees. And a lot of times American hornbeam isn't too far away. Slightly lower wetter ground for those.
And don't bother with wild cherry.

I'm basing it on bark, twig and branch structure. The bark is the same as this one. Plus I see these trees all of the time.IMG_20140607_165631_612.jpg
