Hello all, I have a Dwarf serbian spruce that I might make into bonsai. It's still small, so I'll let it grow and post some pictures on it.

On the side note, I also bought a Emerald Spire Arborvitae I would like to also create a bonsai out of. I will post a picture of this plant as well. Are these plants suitable bonsais?

Thank you for your time.

Both your trees are quite young, need a lot of growing. But both species can make good bonsai. The Arborvitae will grow quicker than the spruce, you will need to make a plan for the Arborvitae in order to keep foliage close to the trunk.

Read the threads on Hinoki, in addition to the threads on Arborvitae, also known as Thuja, & white cedar, search under all the names. Thuja do not back bud on old wood, you need to plan for that.

I am Serbian and do not have one of these little trees, wasn't aware they are available here! Thank you for posting.

I'm assuming you got it at a local nursery?
