This is a progression thread for a five dollar juniper I picked up last year. I didn't know what to do with it so I turned it into a scorpion... because why not?

This is the tree now. I repotted earlier this season and made some aggressive changes. The disparity between apex and lower branches is done with the intent of growth management. The lower pads have also been left alone simply because I felt like I had pushed the tree enough for one year.

I think it's a great little progression, i'd personally really want some movement in that trunk and I think you should be able to at least get some of a bend in it with the right wire/raffia. Also it looks like the apex has been formed with a side branch, i'd be trying to encourage growth in the apex to fatten up the trunk because at the minute the trunk section leading to the apex is thinner than your branch heading down to the right.
